Getting Started at Online Casinos - Beginners Guide

The online casino registration process today is relatively straightforward. You will find that the online application form is basically the same at all online casinos. The details that each casino requires for example are the same wherever you are trying to sign up from. However, the order in which the details are required will vary slightly from one casino to the next, but it’s the same information that is needed. In fact, some online casinos even now allow you to sign up via Facebook.

When getting started at an online casino and signing up for the very first time, you will need to create a new and unique alias/username. You will also need to fill out the following details: Your first name is required, together with your last name/surname, your date of birth, your country of origin and one of your registered email addresses.

This is where you will find out whether players from your country are actually allowed to sign up to the casino or not. The country section is usually a dropdown box which contains a list of different countries in alphabetical order. If you country isn’t in this dropdown box, it means that you can’t sign up there.

You must be 18 years old (or above) to play in the real cash mode at most of today’s online casinos. You will also be required to enter your gender and then check the box to confirm that you accept the Terms and Conditions. The T’s & C’s can seem take forever to read but they are definitely worth a read, even if you just skim through them. You may then need to enter your current address.

When you click confirm to complete the registration process, you will instantly be sent a confirmation email to the address that you registered with the casino. Some casinos require you to click on an activation link within that email, so you will need to click on that link before your account is fully activated.

When you attempt to deposit, or make your first withdrawal, you will need to confirm who you are and the casino will also need to verify your details, so it’s always a good idea to have stored on your computer a copy of a recent gas/electricity bill in your name, which is what they will ask for. This bill/bank statement must have the address that you registered when you signed up to the casino. You will also need a copy of your I.D, which could either be a colour copy of your passport or driving license. Most online casinos generally accept both.
